Everything you need to know before getting started.
Therapy Fees & Insurance Information
Starting therapy is a meaningful investment in your mental health, emotional well-being, and long-term healing. I believe you deserve clear information about fees, insurance, and payment before scheduling your first session.
Whether you are using insurance, paying privately, or exploring out-of-network benefits, this page will help you understand what to expect.

Insurance Accepted
I currently accept the following insurance plans:
Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield
Aetna
CareFirst
Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield
Insurance coverage can vary depending on your plan, deductible, copay, and mental health benefits. I recommend contacting your insurance provider before your first appointment to confirm your coverage.
→ Helpful questions to ask your insurance company:
"Do I have mental health benefits?"
"What is my copay or coinsurance for outpatient therapy?"
"Do I have a deductible to meet first?"
"Is [Practice Name / Therapist Name] in-network with my plan?"
Private Pay Therapy
Private pay therapy is available for clients who prefer not to use insurance or whose plan is not accepted.
Many clients choose private pay because it allows for greater privacy, flexibility, and control over their care. Private pay therapy means your treatment decisions stay between you and your therapist, without requiring insurance-based diagnoses, session limits, or third-party authorization.
Private pay may be a good fit if you want:More confidentiality around your mental health care
Flexibility in session frequency and treatment goals
A personalized therapy experience based on your needs
Support without relying on insurance approval
Out-of-Network Benefits
If I am not in-network with your insurance plan, you may still be able to use your out-of-network benefits.
Out-of-network benefits may allow you to receive partial reimbursement for therapy sessions after you pay the session fee directly. Upon request, I can provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
Please contact your insurance provider to ask:
"Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?"
"What percentage of each therapy session is reimbursed?"
"Do I need to meet a deductible first?"
"How do I submit a superbill for reimbursement?"
"Is there a limit on the number of sessions covered?"
Reimbursement is not guaranteed and depends on your specific insurance plan.
Cancellation Policy
Your appointment time is reserved specifically for you. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least [24/48] hours notice.
Sessions canceled with less than [24/48] hours notice may be charged the full session fee of $[Fee]. Insurance does not typically cover late cancellation or no-show fees.
This policy helps protect appointment availability and supports consistent care
Payment Methods Accepted
Payment is due at the time of service. I accept the following payment methods:
Credit card
Debit card
Health Savings Account, HSA
Flexible Spending Account, FSA
Online payment through secure client portal
A card on file may be required for scheduling and billing purposes.
Good Faith Estimate
Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining the expected cost of your mental health care.
If you are uninsured or choosing not to use insurance, I will provide an estimate of expected charges for therapy services. This estimate is not a contract and does not require you to receive services, but it is designed to help you understand potential costs before beginning care.
You are encouraged to ask questions about fees, payment, and expected costs at any point in the therapy process.
If you have any questions about fees, insurance, payment options, or getting started, I'm here to help. Feel free to reach out by email or through the contact form, and I'll be happy to answer your questions.
